During the War of Resistance Against Japan, China was in urgent need of a large amount of arms. Due to the shortage of foreign exchange, only the traditional export materials were required to repay the aid loans to China from various countries. In the war of resistance against Japan, the first credit loan that China got from abroad was provided by the Soviet Union on March 1, 1938, amounting to 50 million U.S. dollars. On July 1, 1938 and June 30, 1939, the Soviet Union provided two larger loans. The Soviet Union’s loans to China totaled a total of 250 million U.S. dollars. It provides for the offsetting of China’s strategic minerals and agricultural products. The historical data of this group reflects the specific process of handling trade with the Kuomintang government against the Soviet Union.
