驾驶疲劳的客观评测方法是遏制疲劳驾驶现象和预防交通事故的重要手段。本文提出了一种利用自发瞳孔波动下的瞳孔直径变异性(PDV)来判断驾驶疲劳的方法。首先,用红外摄像机采集受试者90s的瞳孔图;然后,采用基于曲率特征的边缘检测算法提取瞳孔可见边界点并利用这些点进行圆拟合得到瞳孔直径,最后计算整个测试时间内PDV值。实验结果表明,清醒组(12人)和疲劳组(13人)的PDV值存在显著的差异性,分别为0..026±0.005和0.141±0.042。由于自发的瞳孔波动行为受自主神经控制,而自主神经不受人的主观意愿影响,所以该方法可用于客观评价驾驶员的驾驶疲劳。
Objective assessment of driving fatigue method is to curb the phenomenon of driving fatigue and an important means of preventing traffic accidents. This paper presents a method to determine driving fatigue by using pupil diameter variability (PDV) under spontaneous pupil fluctuations. Firstly, the pupil map of 90s was collected with an infrared camera. Then, the edge detection algorithm based on curvature feature was used to extract the pupil visible boundary points and the circle fitting was used to obtain the pupil diameter. Finally, the PDV value of the whole test period was calculated. The experimental results showed that the PDV values of the awake group (12 persons) and the fatigue group (13 persons) were significantly different, being 0..026 ± 0.005 and 0.141 ± 0.042, respectively. Because spontaneous pupil fluctuations are controlled by autonomic nervous system, while autonomic nervous system is not affected by human subjective intention, this method can be used to objectively evaluate driver fatigue.
