非裔美国人土著语(AAVE)是主要被非裔美国人使用的土著语言。大部分族外人特别是美国白人对其持否定态度,认为AAVE是无语法的低劣语言,它在学校的使用会给教育带来消极影响。本文指出了人们对AAVE所持否定态度的表现,分析了其原因,肯定并论证了AAVE是有规则、有体系、正常的人类语言,对学生的智力发展和语言学习等方面起着积极作用。
African-American Indigenous Language (AAVE) is an indigenous language used primarily by African Americans. Most non-ethnic people, especially American whites, have a negative attitude toward it. They believe that AAVE is a poor language without grammar and its use in schools will have a negative impact on education. This article points out people’s negative attitude toward AAVE and analyzes the reasons. It affirms and demonstrates that AAVE is a regular, systematic, and normal human language, and it plays an active role in students’ intellectual development and language learning.
