在金属塑性加工的研究中应用相似模拟,其关键问题之一是选用模拟材料。当前用来模拟金属塑性变形的模型材料——塑性泥引起国内外同行的注目。它是英国Pefer Pan Plaything公司制造的一种粘土类模型材料。其成份以碳酸钙为主,外加矿物油类物质、Fe和Si的氧化物、Mgco_3以及适当的颜料配制而成。分白、黑、灰、青、绿等十余种。太原重机学院在应用英国塑性混进行金属塑性变形相似模拟的研究中,已证实塑性泥压缩率小、和热钢有类似的应力应变关系、用Caco_3做润滑剂
