专门用途英语(ESP)是一种以学习者为中心并以满足学习者需求为目标的英语教学理念,这也是医学院校英语教学改革的方向。为迎接转型时期带来的挑战和机遇,英语教师应遵循专门用途英语的课程特点和教学方法,在医学生学习需求分析的基础上,教师通过开设医学学术用途英语系列课程(EMAP)来实现角色转变,从而有效提高医学教育质量和医学生的英语应用技能。
English for Specific Purposes (ESP) is a kind of learner-centered English teaching philosophy which aims to meet the needs of learners. It is also the direction of English teaching reform in medical colleges and universities. In order to meet the challenges and opportunities brought by the transformation period, English teachers should follow the characteristics and teaching methods of English for special purposes. Based on the analysis of learning needs of medical students, teachers should realize their roles through the EMAP (Medical Academic English Series) Change, so as to effectively improve the quality of medical education and medical students English application skills.
