The determination of the end point in precision silver titration is difficult. The reason is that the silver halide formed by titration is both precipitated and darkens sensibly, preventing the end point from being observed with the indicator. Although potentiometric titration is an effective solution, the problems of the repeatability and sensitivity based on the indicator electrode have not been widely used in the past. In recent years, the development of ion-selective electrodes has revealed the possibility of indicating electrodes as it is known that some units also make potential titration tests.
