理念,作为意识形态的范畴,最早源于西方哲学史的概念,即一种理想的、永恒的、精神性的普遍范型。今天人们使用的“理念”一词,意义早已与它在哲学中的含义相去甚远。《辞海》(1989年版)对“理念”一词的解释有两条,一是“看法、思想;思维活动的结果”。二是“观念(希腊文idea),通常指思想。有时亦指表象或客观事物在人脑里留下的概括的形象。”这里所指的理念,显然是第二层含义:观念或思想。
