抗日战争时期我党在海南岛澄迈县西南部美合村一带开辟了一块纵横几十里的美合抗日根据地。这块根据地紧靠六芹山,东临屯昌县境,南靠琼中县境,西与儋县县境接壤,西北临近高县境,居民以客家人和苗族为主。当时这里三面环山,一面靠水,山峦起伏,道路崎岖,地势险要,森林密茂,土地肥沃,物产丰富,敌、伪、顽势力相对比较薄
During the War of Resistance Against Japan, our party opened up a cross-border anti-Japanese base of the United States in the area of Meihe Village, southwest of Chengmai County, in Hainan Island. This base is close to the Qinqian Mountain, east of Tunchang County, south of Qiongzhong County, bordering on Xijia County and Xixia County, and its population is dominated by Hakka and Miao people. At that time, there were three sides of the mountain surrounded by water, undulating hills, rugged roads, difficult terrain, dense forests, fertile land, abundant resources, relatively fierce enemy forces, counterfeit and stubborn forces
