Asia is a major source of capital for attracting foreign investment in our country. As of September 1997, the cumulative investment agreement reached by the ASEAN, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan in mainland China reached 403.117 billion U.S. dollars, with an actual investment of 168.363 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for more than 80% of the actual amount of China’s use of foreign funds.
