紅斑性狼瘡为相当常見的疾病,近年来,国內外学者致力于闡明本病的实質。目前,不仅皮科医师,就是內科医师、微生物学家、病理形态学家及其他專家对此問題也都很感兴趣。 紅斑性狼瘡是严重的疾患,大多呈慢性經过。本病不但損坏患者面部的皮膚,而对精神影响也很大,降低病人的工作能力。急性播散型紅斑性狼瘡特别危險,患此病者几乎全部死亡。 紅斑性狼瘡多見于18—35岁的妇女,但男人患此病者亦不少見(約佔紅斑性狼瘡患者总数的20—35％)。幼童及老年人患此病者極少。
