已经编纂出版的新县(市)志书普遍比较重视对建制乡镇的记述,而忽视对集镇的记述。县(市)志书记载乡镇,完全置于区划部分并不妥当,应该单设专卷置于社会部类之后。对集镇的记述,只在乡镇部分简略记述是不够的,同样应该在乡镇卷之后单设集镇专卷予以详记。记载集镇,就是记载农村城镇化的过程,并不是可记可不记之事,而是一部高质量的县(市)志必须应该记载的。
