水稻单株插秧是加速繁育水稻良种的良好栽培方式,具有节省种子、加快良种繁育、不易倒伏、增产显著和有利于选种等优点.1971年永宁县农技干部沙钰同志和通桥公社政台四队贫下中农栽植的59.28亩(标准亩)单株插秧水稻,平均亩产1,113斤,其中1.9亩京引39号丰产田,亩产1,262斤.宁夏大学一分校农学系教师,在永宁县养和公社王太八队与贫下中农一起搞了两块单株插秧试验田,一块是0.57亩,折合亩产1,045斤,一块是0.4亩,折合亩产1,073斤.
