当今世界,人类面临着居住环境质量恶化,人口膨胀、生态破坏、能源短缺等问题,各国都在努力探求一个可持续发展的途径。为深人探讨下一世纪建筑发展的方向,主题为“21世纪建筑学”的国际建筑师协会第20届世界建筑师大会将于1999年6月23～26日在北京举行。届时,数千名中外建筑师、专家、学者、建筑官员、社会学家、建筑学生将汇聚北京,共同回顾本世纪全球建筑成就,探讨下个世纪建筑发展趋势,交流思想、总结经验。这次大会将是一次丰富建筑学术思想的盛会。
In today’s world, human beings are faced with problems such as deteriorating living environment, population expansion, ecological destruction, and energy shortages. All countries are striving to explore a sustainable development path. The 20th International Architects Association of the International Association of Architects, whose theme is “Architecture of the 21st Century” will be held in Beijing from June 23 to June 26, 1999. At that time, thousands of Chinese and foreign architects, experts, scholars, construction officials, sociologists, and architectural students will gather in Beijing to review the achievements of global architecture in this century, discuss architectural trends in the next century, exchange ideas, and summarize experiences. This conference will be a grand gathering of architectural academic ideas.
