布雕画,顾名思义就是在布上面进行雕刻。它是在传统木烙画的基础上,经民间艺人长期实践历经多次改革创新演变而成的。是汉代烙画、唐朝堆锦、明清布贴画、布堆画等特色工艺的集大成者,艺术表现力极为丰富。在制作工艺上,布雕画是使用烙铁雕刻在布料上面进行书画创作。其在绘制的过程中不需使用任何书画工具、颜料,主要是在各种颜色的布料上,通过烙、烤、烫、熨等技法,利用布料的花色、纹理、光感、高温可溶等特点,充分将各种工艺巧妙运用,使画面展现出古朴典雅、精妙传神的艺术魅力。
