《红字》这部作品诞生于美国的文艺复兴时期,是由浪漫主义文学作家纳撒尼尔·霍桑编著的。在书中,作者通过一个严肃并且敏感的婚外情话题,并借助语言、想象以及艺术等多种表现形式来描述人性中的“假丑恶”和“真善美”。《红字》的出世对美国文学的影响是空前巨大的,其标志着美国在文学领域的成熟和精神领域的独立。文章中,笔者通过对《红字》这部作品的背景和叙事视角进行剖析,从而引申出霍桑有关于“救赎”的主题思想。
The Scarlet Letter was born in the Renaissance in the United States and was authored by romantic writer Nathaniel Hawthorne. In the book, the author describes the “false ugliness” and “truth, goodness and beauty” in human nature through a serious and sensitive extramarital affair, and through various manifestations of language, imagination and art. The birth of The Scarlet Letter has an unprecedented impact on American literature, marking the United States’ maturity and spiritual independence in the field of literature. In the article, the author analyzes the background and narrative perspective of this work, which leads to Hawthorne’s theme on “redemption ”.
