从事文化工作和懂得艺术的父亲我的父亲一辈子都非常勤奋刻苦。他从福建的偏远山区走出来参加革命,没有上过大学,是自学成才。他不抽烟、不喝酒、不跳舞,也从来不打牌,一有空就看书。他以前不是搞文艺工作的。解放前他曾在邹韬奋主办的《生活周刊》工作,到延安后又和艾思奇在一起搞哲学研究,后来到《解放日报》做编辑工作,国共分裂后被派到香港和章汉夫一起编辑出版中共中央在敌后的机关刊物《群众》周刊。解放以后50年代初他才调到中宣部搞文艺工作,自此就没有离开这个领域。
My father, who is engaged in cultural work and knows art, is very diligent and hard working all his life. He came out from the remote mountainous areas of Fujian Province to participate in the revolution. He did not go to college and was self-taught. He does not smoke, does not drink, does not dance, he never played cards, read books whenever he could. He was not engaged in literary and art work before. Before his liberation, he had worked in “Life Weekly” hosted by Zou Taofen and went to Yan’an to work with Ai Siqi on philosophical studies. Later, he went to the “Jiefang Daily” to do editing work. After the split of the Kuomintang and Communist Party, he was sent to Hongkong to edit and publish with Zhang Hanfu CPC Central Committee behind the enemy’s organ publications “mass” weekly. Since the liberation of the early 1950s, he transferred to the Central Propaganda Department to engage in literary and art work and has not left the field ever since.
