20世纪30年代,当时还是学生的贺绿汀为参加比赛创作了《牧童短笛》,这首充满中国神韵的钢琴作品获得了那次比赛的第一名。时隔74年,2007年6月4日,由中央音乐学院主办、文化部中国演艺设备技术协会及上海超拨乐器有限公司协办、中央音乐学院萧友梅音乐教育促进会与作曲系承办的2007“帕拉天奴杯”第一届中国音乐创作(钢琴作品)大赛胜利落幕。在我国九大音乐艺术高校、海内外作曲家、钢琴家的热情支持下,赛事历经3个月,共收录来自海内外的中国原创钢琴作品381部。大赛评委会由15位来自国内外的著名老、中、青作曲家、钢琴家组成,赛事的组织规模和社会影响力可以想见。正如赛事组委会主席、中央音乐学院王次炤院长所说:传统就像一条河,一直流到现在,钢琴虽不是本国传统的音乐文化,但其在中国的引入与发展到现在已近百年的历史。我们虽历经几代作曲家、演奏家的努力而涌现出如周广仁、刘诗昆、殷成宗、鲍蕙荞、傅聪及年轻一代如孔祥东、朗朗、李云迪等国际知名钢琴家和《牧童短笛》、《春江花月夜》等著名中国钢琴曲,但就当代我国钢琴艺术的发展趋势来说,创作出更多、更好的中国钢琴作品对充实本民族钢琴作品的规模和推动中国钢琴音乐的发展对世界的影响有着非常现实的意义。
