胡锦涛同志在参加全国政协十届四次会议民盟、民进联组会时提出了以“八荣八耻”为主要内容的社会主义荣辱观。“八荣八耻”的基本要求反映了全体人民的共同心愿,得到了“两会”代表委员的热烈关注和广泛认同,得到了全社会的衷心拥护。牢固树立以“八荣八耻”为主要内容的社会主义荣辱观,对于坚持以邓小平理论和“三个代表”重要思想为指导,贯彻落实科学发展观,加强社会主义精神文明建设,构建社会主义和谐社会,都具有十分重要的意义。
