春季冻害对桃子的供应及其价格产生很大波动。在南卡罗来纳州,桃子产量与1981年和1984年比较,1982年降低51%,1983年降低68%。据报道,砧木,施氮肥、夏季脱叶及蒸发冷却都可以推迟桃树开花。本研究比较了施用乙烯生成物(乙烯利和CGA—15281)与硝酸银(乙烯利作用的抑制剂)对桃树花量与开花时间的影响。乙烯生成化合物作用的方式的两种假设进行了试验:(1)处理增加了休眠的低温需求;(2)处理改变了芽对温暖气候的反应.只一次休眠就满足了。作为推迟开花手段的夏季脱叶,利用人工技术与化学处理也分别进行了调查。
Spring frost damage to the supply of peaches and its prices have a lot of volatility. In South Carolina, peach production decreased 51% in 1982 and 68% in 1983 compared with 1981 and 1984. It is reported that rootstocks, nitrogenous fertilizers, summer defoliation and evaporative cooling can all delay peach blossom. This study compared the effects of ethylene production (ethephon and CGA-15281) and silver nitrate (ethephon inhibitor) on peach flower number and flowering time. Two hypotheses of the way in which ethylene-producing compounds act were tested: (1) treatment increased the need for dormancy and (2) treatment altered the response of shoots to warm climates, and only one dormancy was met. Summer defoliation, as a means of postponing flowering, was also investigated separately using artificial techniques and chemical treatments.
