In recent years, the publishing industry in our country has been hovering in the trough, books and periodicals have suffered a serious decline, and the book market has shrunk. Difficult to publish books, scientific monographs more difficult to publish, a number of important academic monographs were forced to withdraw due to lack of funds published. Recreational categories, practical categories, popular books, the growth rate is too large, undermined the book’s overall rational structure. Take our museum as an example, according to the report released by the survey and layout research on literature resources from 1987 to 1990, our library has the largest collection of medical and health documents in the province, ranking the first 15 in the country. In 1991, a total of 1,580 new Chinese medical books were purchased by our library. Despite the efforts of the interviewing departments, there are still 285 kinds of books (18% of the total) preventing the popularization of health books. And make the collection of similar books far away from teaching, scientific research and medical treatment more than a thousand species, which have greatly risen. Among some of the new book authors, 54% are book-writing, 31% are books, 8% are books, and 7% are books with translations, which also reflects the backwardness of medical research. Less, less translation, “the worrying phenomenon is particularly prominent. From the Third Beijing International Book Fair national new medical books mail order, the total is 317 species, while only two kinds of basic medicine. The results of basic medical research should ultimately be reflected through academic monographs. The number of books published in basic medical sciences is small, which is the same as that published by the publishing department in addition to the ”subsidy fee"
