文章对１９９５年以来四川经济发展形势的总体判断是：宏观调控已初见成效，微观经济运行中的矛盾较为突出。为了确保四川经济持续、快速、健康的发展并进入良性循环，今后经济工作的决策取向应当为：１．切实增强农业的基础地位，确保农业增产增收；２．加强企业管理，狠抓产品结构调整，推动科技进步，努力提高经济运行的效益和质量；３．进一步加大改革开放的力度。
The overall judgment of the economic development in Sichuan since 1995 is that the macroeconomic regulation and control have achieved initial success and the contradictions in the microeconomic operation have become more prominent. In order to ensure the sustained, rapid and healthy development of Sichuan’s economy and to enter a virtuous circle, the orientation of future economic work should be: 1. Effectively strengthen the basic position of agriculture to ensure that agricultural production increase; 2. Strengthen enterprise management, pay close attention to product structure adjustment, promote scientific and technological progress, and strive to improve the efficiency and quality of economic operation; 3. Further increase the reform and opening up.
