菜青虫是我市蔬菜作物的一种主要害虫,由于连年大量使用化学农药,致使害虫产生了很强的抗药性。敌敌畏、敌百虫等化学农药对三龄以上的幼虫已失去了防治效果;而且用药后蔬菜残毒高出国家标准几倍至十几倍。为此,有必要在生物防治领域寻找新的防治途径。1978年冬我所发现一种能致死菜青虫的病毒病,经鉴定为菜青虫颗粒体病毒(病毒粒子是“V”字形与“杆状”的混合体株系,经武汉大学病毒研究所谭业平教授鉴定,代号为“7801”)。据小区试验和生产上试用,“7801”侵染力强,用于短期防治,效果明显超过敌百虫、敌敌畏和敌敌畏加杀螟杆菌等农药。1978年在我市金牛区、
