This article describes in detail the measurement principle and system structure of a red cell aggregation instrument. The instrument measures the backscattered light intensity of the laser light from the blood sample and provides the kinetics, structure and rheology parameters that reflect the process of erythrocyte aggregation. The system consisting of PC and 8098 microcontroller realizes the functions of automatic control, measurement and data storage of the instrument.
