翻译和女人一样一直以来被看作次要和劣等的,这种厌恶女性的性别刻板印象让性别术语对女性和翻译构成消极影响。为了挑战上述规范,表达出她们自己的声音,女性把翻译作为公开表达的方式。通过重新定义忠实、等值和消隐,女性主义翻译理论用新视角审视翻译的过程,译者的身份,从而丰富了翻译研究。而且,它提出译者作为创作者和再造者的身份,同时,女权主义理论在也受到许多批评。

Translation, like a woman, has long been regarded as secondary and inferior, and such stereotypical stereotyping of disgusting women has the negative effect that gender terms have on women and translation. In order to challenge the above norms, to express their own voices, women use translation as a way to express themselves. Through the redefinition of faithfulness, equivalence and blanking, the feminist translation theory examines the translation process and the translator’s identity with a new perspective, enriching translation studies. Moreover, it raises the identity of the translator as creator and re-inventor, and at the same time the theory of feminism is subjected to many criticisms.
