办学特色是现代学校的重要竞争力之一。大连经济技术开发区金石滩小学(以下简称“金石滩小学”),位于国家5A级景区—金石滩国家旅游度假区。学校在长期的教育实践中,提炼了“精诚教育”的办学理念,根据地域文化特点提出打造“旅游世界文化遗产”为主题的特色学校文化,以“四个文化”(校园环境文化、学生文化、课程文化、理念文化)建设为依托,以“六个走向”(走向金石滩、走向金州新区、走向大连、走向辽宁、走向中国、走向世界)和“三个进入”(特色进入学校、进入课堂、进入教材)为途径,全力打造学校特色品牌,构建了全新的金石特色文化体系。
