Today’s Paris is Paris after the Ottoman Grand Redemption ... and Paris under Balzac: Narrow streets, dim yellow streetlights, suitable for wagons on the streets of the blue stone “嘚 嘚” knock ... ... The kind of life that took place in the seventeenth century was only preserved in the area known as the Marais. ∥ Mahai District was once a marshland, and as such, the name “Mahai” is deduced from the transliteration “Marshes”. In 879 AD, the King of that time gave the monastery a saint, and the priests drained the swamps, planted the crops, and changed to garments. By the Middle Ages, it was planted with fruit trees. ∥ In the first half of the 12th century there was once a sacred place for pilgrims to pilgrimage. There are many saints and clergy who choose to live here. Slowly, the place becomes rich and refined, and even people in other areas begin to envy. Since then, despite a series of persecutions, history has not stopped the development of the district. By the 17th century, the Ma’hai district had become a corner where the Paris aristocrats gathered, until now. ∥ Today, our historical entrance starts from the 17th century Ma Hai district.
