湖南会同若水乡檀木湾村有一株远近闻名的千年古樟树,它紧靠沅水上游的巫水河畔,它左右前三面有巫水环绕,背靠大片村庄。树干胸围13.1米,树高37米左右,冠幅962平方米,枝叶繁茂,苍劲挺拔,雄姿巍巍,独立于河滨田野,景致壮观。据清光绪年间的《会同县志》记载:“檀木湾村外,有樟树,树干甚大,荷覆甚远,群呼为‘鸭婆树’。相传有二鸭时集树上,数十年间隐现无常,遂以得名。”
