红薯是一种比较耐旱的高产作物,适应性强,在我县试种,一般亩产3,000～4,000斤.较马铃薯高1～3倍.红薯的经济价值高,用处广,薯蔓是猪、羊、牛的好饲料.薯块可作食品,或加工造酒、糖、粉等.1971年我县进行试种,通过生产实践,广大贫下中农基本上掌握了红薯栽培、管理等技术.如梧桐树公社梧桐树大队第七生产队,去年种了1.1亩红薯,总产4.000多斤.园艺场一队平均亩产在3,000斤左右,最高的一株结薯5.4斤.示
