在西方新社会史学兴起和发展的过程中,对近代早期英格兰的研究占有特殊地位。英格兰是欧洲文明勃兴的领头羊,因此,对它在近代早期世界历史进程中经济与社会变迁的历史进行研究,对于提升西方新社会史研究的整体水平颇具重要性。基思·赖特森以近代早期英格兰社会为研究对象,在继承前人研究的基础上,在该领域的研究中做出了卓越的贡献,成为西方新社会史学的重要代表人物。他从微观视角出发,充分利用档案材料,采用人类学、社会学的概念与方法,瞄准下层普通民众,探讨他们如何受到当时英格兰政治、经济与文化变迁的影响。在他的影响下,赖特森的弟子们将近代早期英格兰新社会史研究推向了更为成熟的阶段,对他们研究成果的学习与借鉴必将能够促进我国近代早期英格兰社会史的研究。
In the process of the rise and development of new social historiography in the West, the study of early modern England occupies a special position. As a leader of European civilization, England has studied the history of its economic and social changes in the early history of the world in early modern history. It is of great importance to promote the overall study of the history of new social history in the West. Keith Wrightson, with the early modern England society as the research object, has made outstanding contributions in the research of this field on the basis of inheriting the predecessors’ research and becomes the important representative of the new social history in the West. From a microscopic point of view, he took full advantage of archival materials and used the concepts and methods of anthropology and sociology to aim at the lower ordinary people and explore how they were affected by the political, economic and cultural changes in England at the time. Under his influence, Watson’s disciples push the study of new social history in England in early modern times to a more mature stage. The study and reference of their research achievements will surely promote the study of the social history of England in early modern times.
