The importance of holographic raster scanners in optical scanning devices is on the rise. This article describes a holographic scanning method in which a reflective volume hologram is recorded on a chromium salt gelatin plate and placed in the form of a polygon around a cylinder. The scanner works in a reflective manner, making it compact and foldable and having only one order of diffraction in the Bragg condition.
