上海小校场年画藏品中,除常见的传统年画题材外,还有不少展现洋场风貌、描摹新兴事物的作品,《上海新造铁路火轮车开往吴淞》即是其中一例。此画栩栩如生地刻画了洋场新事物——火轮车渗入普通民众生活之情景,为图像文本匮乏的铁路诞生记平添几许色彩。但因此画版本众多,此前亦有许多误读,本文旨在厘清其中脉络,从而更准确地理解原作。
In addition to the common themes of traditional New Year pictures, there are many works that show the appearance of foreign markets and portray new things in Shanghai New Year’s Small-Field New Year Pictures Collection. One example is “Shanghai-New-built railway wagon bound for Wusong”. This painting vividly portrayed the foreign market new things - the influx of ordinary people into the scene of the steamer, the lack of image text to add a few colors of the birth of the railway. However, there are many versions of the painting and there have been many misunderstandings before. This article aims to clarify the context in order to understand the original work more accurately.
