晁小兰,陕西咸阳人。1962年出生于甘河边的窑洞里。1975年举家迁往兰州,1983年毕业于兰州炼油化工总厂自办的师专班。1994年,到兰州高压阀门厂子弟小学任教。1992年5月,调该厂销售科。 1994年春,晁小兰辞职创业,以每年缴纳 2万元管理费,完成50万元销售指标的条件,拿到了开封阀门厂兰州地区的代理权。靠着善于交际的优势、不怕吃苦的精神和请客送礼的方法,淘得人生第一桶金; 1997年底,晁小兰应人之约北上沈阳开始第二次创业。合伙做阀门代理生意。由于两人经营理念等方面的不合,创业失败;
