In the long-term geological disposal of HLW, the solidified glass, as the first-layer engineering barrier, will be subjected to continuous electron irradiation. It is of great significance to study the effect of electron radiation on the long-term safe disposal of HLW waste. In situ electron beam irradiation experiments were performed on a borosilicate glass sample on a transmission electron microscope (TEM). Under the action of electron beam, both borosilicate glass phase separation phenomenon occurs quickly, mainly due to ionization caused by the migration or escape of Na results in the restructuring of the network structure. The simple structural model was introduced to explain the difference in the phase separation of the two different compositions of borosilicate glass. The results show that the phase separation is closely related to the Na content in the glass composition.
