Objective: To investigate the role of telomerase activation in the development of laryngeal carcinoma and hypopharyngeal carcinoma. Methods: Telomerase activity was detected in 58 cases of hypopharyngeal carcinoma of the laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma, 25 cases of paracancerous tissues and 10 cases of precancerous lesions using a modified silver-labeled telomere repeat amplification assay. Results: Of the 58 cases of laryngeal and hypopharyngeal carcinoma, 53 were positive and the positive rate was 914%. Three of 25 paracancerous tissues were positive and the positive rate was 12%. Seven of 10 precancerous lesions were positive and the positive rate was 70 %. Conclusion: The expression of telomerase activity in laryngeal carcinoma, hypopharyngeal carcinoma and its precancerous lesions is extremely high, which is of great significance in elucidating the pathogenesis of carcinogenesis of laryngeal carcinoma and hypopharyngeal carcinoma and the risk of cancer. It may be an early diagnosis of laryngeal cancer Of biological markers.
