寿光市刘旺社区是远近闻名的甜瓜种植村,其生产的刘旺甜瓜皮薄瓤红、香脆可口、甜而不腻,受到了广大消费者的青睐。刘旺甜瓜富含糖类、蛋白质、胡萝卜素、维生素B1、维生素B2、烟酸、柠檬酸、钙、磷、铁等元素,具有生津解渴、保护肝脏、驱杀蛔虫等功效。刘旺甜瓜的价格是普通甜瓜的6~7倍,收益是蔬菜的10~15倍,为当地菜农带来了巨大的经济效益。刘旺甜瓜正成为农民“钱袋子”里名符其实的“金元宝”。
