The core of Aristotle’s political philosophy is the two concepts that justice is teleology and justice is honor. In the orthodox thesis of justness, the just definition of rights requires us to understand the purpose of the social conduct in question. In a just and honorable argument, just is to reason about the purpose or discussion of a behavior, at least in part to reason about or discuss what kind of virtue it should respect or reward. The key to understanding the ethics and politics of Aristotle is to understand the considerations and connections between purpose and honor.
