世界博览会是由一个国家的政府主办,有多个国家或国际组织参加,以展现人类在社会、经济、文化和科技领域取得成就的国际性大型展示会。其特点是举办时间长、展出规模大、参展国家多、影响深远。对于扩大举办国及举办地的知名度具有非常积极的意义。举世瞩目的2010年世界博览会举办权花落上海,它不仅属于上海,更属于中国。在世博会150多年的历史上,2010年世博会将成为第一次在发展中国家举办的综合性世界博览会,这将会极大地促进上海等沿海地区以及广大内陆地区的发展。
