Ellis-la-Electronic Systems has developed a light-missile launch / approach alert system called PAWS (Passive Airborne Warning System) to equip it with fighter jets and combat helicopters. The PAWS includes one or more 3.5 kg heavy infrared sensors, each with an associated 5 kilogram weight processor based on the T800 32-bit computer transpu- ter. The system can work independently or integrated with the radar alarm receiver. It uses 28 VDC power and consumes 100 watts.
