罗平县位于云南省东部,滇、桂、黔三省(区)交界处,为山区和半山区,面积3005.62km2,山区占78%,坝区占22%。最高海拨2467.9m,最低海拔722m,相对高差1746m;年平均降雨量1743.9mm,是全省的多雨中心之一;年平均日照1685h,日照平均率为38%;年均温度13.20～18.25℃,境内从南到北气候类型分别为亚热带、温带和冷凉地带,立体气候非常明显。
