叶子南先生的《英汉翻译对话录》(北京大学出版社,2003)是一本别具一格的讨论翻译技巧的专著。作者采用对话的形式,显然是为了摆脱一般的教科书的某些做法,旨在用生动形象、深入浅出的语言向读者介绍翻译过程中值得关注的一些问题、困难和对付策略,把某些较为抽象的、牵涉到语言学理论和翻译理论的概念尽可能用通俗易懂的语言来说明。文章针对性强,有举例、有分析,尽量从学习者的角度来提出问题,进行剖视解析,有不少例子看来作者是从平时的教学实践和研究中积累起来的,确有启发意义。
Mr. Ye Nan’s “Conversation of English-Chinese Translators” (Peking University Press, 2003) is a unique monograph discussing translation skills. The author adopts the form of dialogue, apparently in order to get rid of some of the practices of ordinary textbooks, and aims to introduce the readers to some issues, difficulties, and strategies to deal with in the process of translation in a vivid and inexplicable language. Some of the more abstract The concepts involving linguistic theories and translation theories are explained in as easy language as possible. The article has strong pertinence, examples, and analysis. It tries to raise questions from the perspective of learners and analyzes them in cross-section. There are many examples of authors who have accumulated from the usual teaching practice and research. They are indeed suggestive. .
