The purpose is to explore the relationship between hypoxia and heart rate variability (HRV). Methods The subjects were 12 pilot students who had stopped flying without medical reasons. Decompression in the low-pressure cabin before the pressure to 5000 m immediately, 10 min, 20 min, 30 min and dropped to the ground level immediately after the test 5 min standard Ⅱ lead ECG. Results In hypoxia, all 11 subjects showed faster heart rate and lower HRV. After dropping to the ground level, heart rate returned to normal and HRV increased. One patient underwent vasovagal syncope aura at 7 min of hypoxia, and the trial was terminated. Conclusions The detection of HRV under hypoxia can objectively reflect the autonomic function of the heart.
