李贤夫妇墓壁画的发掘是我国北周时期墓室壁画的重大发现,为研究我国北周时期的绘画丰富了实物资料,其画风古朴、质拙、风雅,续承汉魏的厚重、典雅的气度,又开启了隋唐灵动、飘逸的新风。既有佛家释然脱俗的气质,又有儒、道的大统与和谐。整体壁画风格注重写实,用笔肯定。没有绚丽的色彩渲染,唯以朱红微妙的浓淡变化表现形体的转折,色彩不重装饰,注重客观的真实写照。这些墓室壁画的发掘是继山西太原北齐墓壁画之后的我国墓室壁画考古的又一重大发现。
