Internet在中文译做国际互联网络,经过30年的发展,已形成了覆盖全球的计算机网络信息库。无论是网络上的信息量,还是其覆盖的范围,甚至数据库节点和访问用户人数,可说是目前世界上最大的计算机网络。 目前在Internet上提供多种标准服务:电子邮件(E-mail),远程登录(Felnet)、文件传输(FTP)、全球浏览(WWW)、电子公告牌(BBS)、新闻组(Newsgroup)等。通过这些服务项目,用户可以获得丰富的信息,诸如:经济、人材、教育、科技、医疗、体育、娱乐和艺术等,不胜枚举。事实上,In-ternet并不是一个单一的计算机网络,而是由许许多多各式各样的网络组成的计算机“俱乐部”。
