The poem “Ashima” is the literary classic of the Yi people and the “Ashima” translated by Dai Nai Die is the only English translation. The translation of Ashima is a typical case of a translator of special cultural identities in Chinese books. Exploring the translator’s translation process and the method of translating have important guiding and reference significance for the translation of national literature and the promotion of the ethnic minority classics going abroad.
