去年十月,应旧金山美国艺术剧院(简称ACT)主请,由旧金山市市长向上海市市长发出邀请,作为两市结为友好城市以来的文化交流项目之一,上海市派出了话剧艺术赴美考察组。考察组成员有上海人民艺术剧院副院长罗毅之、上海青年话剧团演员娄际成、秘书兼翻译詹允照和我共四人。走访了旧金山、华盛顿、纽约、圣地亚哥、洛杉矶五城市。我们在美的三周戏剧考察活动,日期很短,收益不少,既开拓了视野,也有很多情况值得思考。现将有关美国剧坛的演出情况略作记述,以告同行。
Last October, at the invitation of the San Francisco Art Theater of the United States (ACT), the Mayor of San Francisco sent an invitation to the mayor of Shanghai. As one of the cultural exchange programs since the two cities became friendly cities, Shanghai sent a drama art Expedition to the United States. The team members include Luo Yi Zhi, vice president of Shanghai People’s Art Theater, Lou Ji-cheong, an actor of Shanghai Youth Repertory Theater, secretary and translator Zhan Yunzhao and myself. Visited five cities of San Francisco, Washington, New York, San Diego, and Los Angeles. We are in the United States for three weeks theater inspection activities, a very short period of time, a lot of benefits, both broadening horizons, there are many things worth considering. A brief account of the performance of the American theater will now be made to inform colleagues.
