网络技术正在飞速地发展。应用是推动网络技术发展的永恒动力,正象“功能电脑”的出现并开始流行一样,“功能网络”将会是技术演化的产物,“网络就是计算机”是网络技术发展的方向。本文简单阐述高速网络技术的特点及性能,并探讨网络技术的一体化发展趋势。常见网络技术的是与非目前常见的四种高速局域主干网是:快速交换以太网、100VG—Anylan、FDDI、ATM。1998年6月,吉位以太网标准通过并公布实施,今后两年这一网络技术将得到加速应用(如美国Internet2计划)。影响网络生命力的九大因素如下:
