With the arrival of big data era, dataset has become an indispensable and important part of many scientific research projects under the circumstance of modern computer science application technology. In particular, datasets have received increasing attention, research and references since 1980. This paper introduces the development of dataset, analyzes the dataset’s writing role in sci-tech periodical papers, and then shows the dataset’s citations in sci-tech periodicals through concrete data.
