1993年5月下旬,在全国高校图书馆第四次期刊工作研讨会会议期间,全国高校图工委期刊专业委员会(原名“全国高校图书馆期刊研究会”)召开了工作会议。叶继元同志受研究会委托在会上作了工作报告。报告总结了四年来在团结同行,培训人员,开展研究,协调协作和对外交流等方面取得的成绩。截止1993年5月,团体会员已达190个,个人会员650人,全国有18个省(市)成立了分支机构。会员发表的论著已达1500余篇(种)。协调协作已扩大到全国重点高校。报告还指出了研究会的困难与不足,并对今后工作提出了10点建议。经过上届委员会(理事会)的推荐,并通过全国高校图工委征求了各省(区、市)图工委的意见,以及会上的协商,产生了新一届领导班子。新的委员会由40人组成,其中35—45岁的占70%,基本做到了中青年化。高级职称的占80%。委员会还聘请了特邀委员和顾问。
In late May 1993, during the Fourth Academic Work Conference of Academic Libraries in China, a working conference was held in the Professional Committee of the National Academic Committee of Colleges and Universities Working Committee (formerly known as “National Academic Libraries Research Periodical”).
