ITC is an acronym for the International Trainning Center for Aerial Survey and is now known as the International Institute for Aerospace Survey and Earth Sciences. Founded in 1951, it was recommended by the United Nations and was built upon the relevant professions of Delft University of Technology and other universities at the initiative of renowned photogrammetry scientist and first ITC dean, Professor W. Schermerhorn. In 1971, the main school was relocated from Delft to Enschede, a small town in the eastern part of the Netherlands. Some of the major still remained in Delft.
