Dr. Maki of the University of Wisconsin pointed out that the prevalence of nosocomial infections in many hospitals can be attributed to the incomplete handwashing of physicians, nurses and other medical personnel in intensive care units (ICUs). Due to the lack of attention to this type of infection and the lack of awareness, it contributed to the spread of nosocomial infections. Health care workers who are in close contact with high-risk patients in the intensive care unit will not be able to wash their hands thoroughly and will promote the prevalence of nosocomial infections.
